I was a student teacher at Cottonwood High from August 2023 to March 2024. When choosing which school was the best fit for me, Cottonwood was a no brainier. They have a massive performing arts program, lead by Adam Wilkins, where students are encouraged to explore their artistic inclinations to the fullest. It was here that I truly learned how to hone in on my skills as an educator and director.
Teaching at Cottonwood High's theater arts program was a dream come true. From guiding eager beginners to coaching aspiring professionals, every class was a joy. The students' passion and camaraderie made each day unforgettable. Whether exploring the basics or tackling advanced techniques, witnessing their growth was incredibly rewarding. And let's not forget the stage crew—those unsung heroes who brought our productions to life with their creativity and technical prowess. Cottonwood High's theater program isn't just about acting; it's a tight-knit community where passion and talent thrive, and I feel privileged to have been a part of it.
These are just a handful of lessons I created and taught during my time at Cottonwood in their Beginning Theater, Intermediate Theater, Advanced Theater, and Stage Crew classes.
